Both times were in the cabins that they rent. The cabins are nice, and have fully furnished kitchens.Just bring your groceries. There are stores about 10 minutes from the park. They have two bedrooms, and each bedroom has two queen beds each. Each bedroom also has it's own private bathroom. That's nice if you have others with you. This is a very nice park, and the lakes do have some big fish in them, if you like fishing. I have also stayed at Cloudland Canyon, but it's usually pretty crowded, so I prefer Sloppy Floyd. Not in quality of materials or in labor. They are built as quickly and cheaply as possible, and I seriously think if they could build them out of paper, they'd do it. Have fun in St. augustine. Are you staying at Anastasia St PArk, one of our favorites? Make sure you drive south a bit & see Ft Matanzas.
Georgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02165325439708519673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8823993742564320393.post-5108134793556507892016-02-13T09:20:48.661-05:002016-02-13T09:20:48.661-05:00I am admire your gluttony and your writing skills....I am admire your gluttony and your writing skills. You only had the camper for 5 years and it was almost beyond repair. What an industry. The expensive units aren't any better built either. I just don't see how you did it .... you just blew my mind. An undertaking like this would have killed my back and knees and aged me 5 years. You're a better man than I oh Gunga Din. You didn't mention what caused the leak in the first place. With our brand new 2015 Fun Finder we found water running down the walls in the slide out the first time we took it out. I managed to determine where the leak was and fixed it temporarily with Gorilla tape at our campsite. Then a week later, we found water running down the walls in the bedroom (actually we found the floor flooded when we stepped in a big puddle one night). Again I determined that it was coming from the bottom corner of the window frame and once again, Gorilla tape to the rescue. I also knew that water had to be running down between the interior and exterior walls as well. We managed another trip in the unit only to find the cabin flooded two more times, once from a water pump leak and once from the water heater behind a wall panel. Both leaks were a result of grade school craftsmanship in rudimentary plumbing. Nothing cut to proper length and no joints aligned properly. Seeing all this made me realize that this unit would suffer water intrusion from a variety of places for the rest of its life and ultimately end up as a soggy mess.

On a more positive note, we're packed and ready to head down to St. Augustine on Wednesday for 5 days :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04854288199007771977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8823993742564320393.post-66020177579455447372015-09-19T21:21:37.175-04:002015-09-19T21:21:37.175-04:00Funny how different times can mean different exper...Funny how different times can mean different experiences. When we were there in February, the grass was not overgrown and there was no smell anywhere of garbage. Our second trailer had a fairly low discharge valve and there were many many times the sewer port was higher in many private parks as well as State agencies. I got used to just lifting the hose and walking the slug of waste water forward without disconnecting anything. As I told Isle, we really enjoyed our stay. You should watch our video of the visit just so that you can ease your pain a bit :-) Too bad you had to end your otherwise great journey like that.

So what are your plans for your next excursion ? :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04854288199007771977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8823993742564320393.post-5969764961363401872015-09-10T10:15:24.167-04:002015-09-10T10:15:24.167-04:00I can "bearly" make out the image but I&...I can "bearly" make out the image but I'm sure your mental pictures came out a bit less blurry. This park seemed to have a vibe that brought camping neighbors together as we enjoyed visiting with several of our neighbors. We spent more time visiting with folks here than we did hiking and exploring but still managed to get all the cool video and photos we were looking for (minus the obligatory "bug shot"). Yoly and I had a great lunch on the way home at Yahoola Creek Grill on the east side of Dahlonegha (grouper fish tacos & NC rainbow trout sandwich) and greatly enjoyed a nice hot shower when we got home. Now that I've discovered your marvelous blog, it looks like you'll have me captive for days.
